About

Eel Weir State Park sits along the banks of the Oswegatchie River in St. Lawrence County, New York, approximately seven miles south of Ogdensburg off Route 812. The park offers 38 scenic tent campsites in a quiet, wooded setting with direct river access. The Oswegatchie is navigable upstream approximately two miles to Black Lake, making this an ideal base camp for anglers pursuing the area's renowned bass fishing. Facilities include restrooms with showers, picnic areas, a playground, grills at sites, and cartop boat launches. A rental pavilion accommodating up to 70 people is available by permit. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, with reservations available up to nine months in advance through ReserveAmerica. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights. This is a primitive campground with no hookups. Sites accommodate equipment lengths from 20 to 50 feet via back-in access. Firewood from outside the park is prohibited to prevent invasive species.
