About

Cedar Point State Park, established in 1898 as part of the St. Lawrence Reservation, is one of the oldest state parks in New York and remains a popular destination in the Thousand Islands region. Located on Cedar Point along the St. Lawrence River, this 48-acre waterfront park offers 165 tent and trailer campsites along with comprehensive recreation facilities. The park's sheltered sandy beach provides excellent swimming opportunities, while the full-service marina offers boat rentals, seasonal and transient dockage, marine gas sales, and a pump-out station. Anglers can fish from the pier or boat, and waterfowl hunting is permitted in season. The park features picnic grounds with pavilions, a playground, playing fields, and modern restroom facilities with showers and a dump station. From the overlook area, visitors can watch ocean-going freighters navigate the St. Lawrence Seaway. Cedar Point State Park serves as an ideal base for exploring the Thousand Islands region, with nearby state parks including Wellesley Island, Keewaydin, and Robert Moses State Park. The park is located on Route 12E, approximately 6 miles west of Clayton.
