About

Burnham Point State Park sits on a peaceful peninsula jutting into the St. Lawrence River in Jefferson County, part of New York's Thousand Islands region. The 45 tent and trailer campsites are scattered through a lightly-wooded setting, many offering views of the river. Electric hookups (20, 30, and 50-amp service) are available at select sites, though no water or sewer connections exist at individual sites. The park is a prime destination for anglers pursuing smallmouth bass, northern pike, muskellunge, and walleye. Two boat launch ramps and docking facilities provide direct river access. Beyond fishing and boating, campers enjoy the playground, picnic areas with grills, and rentable pavilions for group gatherings. Central facilities include hot showers and a dump station. The quiet atmosphere makes Burnham Point well-suited for families and those seeking a relaxed waterfront camping experience. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, with same-day bookings accepted until 3 PM.
