Golden Hill State Park is a 510-acre park located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in Niagara County, New York. Acquired by New York State in 1962, the park features the historic Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse, which was decommissioned by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1958. The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through mid-October and offers 55 campsites, 6 yurts that sleep up to 6 people with bunk beds and futons, and a 3-bedroom lighthouse cottage available for year-round rental with a 2-night minimum. The park provides excellent outdoor recreation opportunities including fishing, boating with a launch facility, 5.5 miles of hiking and nature trails, picnicking, and shoreline exploration along Lake Ontario. The marina is located half a mile from the campground. During the camping season, visitors can tour the lighthouse and climb the tower, weather permitting, and explore maritime displays at the visitor center. Winter activities include snowshoeing and five miles of snowmobile trails. Campsites include standard amenities with shower facilities available. Yurts are equipped with refrigerators, microwaves, bunk beds, and futons. The lighthouse cottage features a full kitchen, living room with electric fireplace, full bathroom, three queen bedrooms, and stunning views of Lake Ontario. The park charges a vehicle use fee for day visitors and operates from sunrise to sunset for day use.
