About
Located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in Monroe County, Hamlin Beach State Park operates a 264-site campground that attracts thousands of visitors annually. The park's clear water and sandy beaches complement a full-featured campground with amenities including flush restrooms, hot showers, dump stations, and a camp store located in C-Loop. Sites are organized into multiple loops (A, B, C, E, and F), with pets permitted only in loops A, B, and C. The park offers six miles of hiking and biking trails suitable for warm-weather exploration and winter cross-country skiing or snowmobiling. The mile-long self-guided trail through Yanty Creek Marsh at the east end of the park provides opportunities for nature observation. Car-top boat launches provide access to Lake Ontario's excellent salmon and trout fishing. Five pavilions are available for group rental, and multiple picnic areas with grills serve day users and campers. The campground operates on a reservation-only basis through ReserveAmerica, with no walk-in sites available. Same-day reservations can be made before 3 pm. Check-in runs from 3 pm to 8 pm daily, with an 11 am checkout. Each campsite accommodates up to two vehicles. The guarded swimming beach typically operates from late June through Labor Day, weather permitting.
