Dense Fog Advisory issued March 4 at 4:19AM EST until March 4 at 11:00AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY

4:19 AM — 11:00 AM

* WHAT...Visibility as low as one quarter mile at times in dense fog. * WHERE...Niagara county. The greatest coverage of dense fog is expected closer to the Niagara River, including the Niagara Falls area. * WHEN...Until 11 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

Special Weather Statement issued March 4 at 2:49AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY

2:49 AM — 9:00 AM

Areas of fog will persist across much of the area through early this morning...and will help to maintain existing wet ground conditions. Coupled with temperatures around or a little below freezing...this will allow wet roads, bridges, parking lots, driveways and sidewalks to become icy in spots. If you will be out and about this morning...be careful for black ice and slick spots on area roadways, bridges, overpasses, parking lots, driveways, and sidewalks...particularly where these surfaces have not been treated. The black ice threat will come to an end by mid to late morning as the fog dissipates, road surfaces dry out, and temperatures rise above freezing.
