About

Lakeside State Park is a 744-acre destination on Lake Ontario's shore in the Town of Carlton, Orleans County. The campground provides 269 sites across seven loops (A through G), all with electric hookups (30 or 50 amp) and back-in driveways accommodating RVs up to 40 feet. Facilities include hot showers, restrooms, a dump station, laundry, and a concession stand/camp store. Each site has a fire ring for campfires. The park offers substantial recreation beyond camping. The Shore Winds Disc Golf Course draws players, while four miles of trails serve hikers, bikers, and winter cross-country skiers and snowmobilers. Lake Ontario provides fishing opportunities along the shorefront, though swimming is prohibited. A playground, volleyball, and basketball courts round out family amenities. Pets are welcome in loops D, E, F, and G only, with a maximum of two pets per site and current rabies vaccination required at check-in. Recent Emerald Ash Borer damage has resulted in extensive tree removal, creating a more open canopy than in previous years.
