Monadnock HQ Campground is located at the headquarters of Monadnock State Park, home to Mount Monadnock, one of the most frequently climbed mountains in the world. The park offers over 40 miles of trails leading to the 3,165-foot summit, with routes ranging from moderate to strenuous. The HQ campground provides a convenient base for hikers seeking early-morning starts on popular trails like the White Dot and White Cross. The campground operates year-round for family camping, though access changes seasonally. From May through October, vehicles can drive directly to sites. During the primitive season from November 1 through April 30, the campground road closes and campers must park in the main hiking lot and carry gear approximately a quarter mile to their sites. Despite winter road closure, comfort stations with flush toilets and potable water remain available year-round. Hot showers are available seasonally. Each site features a picnic table and fire ring. Firewood is available for purchase at the park store; outside firewood is prohibited to prevent spread of invasive species. Group camping is available for youth organizations by contacting the reservation call center. Pets are not permitted anywhere in Monadnock State Park, including all trails and camping areas.

Directions

From Jaffrey, take NH Route 124 west. Turn right onto Dublin Road, then left onto Poole Road. The park headquarters and campground entrance are at 169 Poole Road.
