About

Lake Dennison Recreation Area is a Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation campground located in Winchendon, about an hour northwest of Boston. The 151 wooded campsites and one group site are spread across loops near the shores of scenic Lake Dennison. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs, though no hookups are available. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. The campground offers solid amenities for a state park: flush restrooms with hot showers, potable drinking water, and an RV dump station. Firewood is available for purchase at the park by credit card. Swimming is popular at the designated beach, and the lake supports fishing and non-motorized boating. From the campground, campers can access more than 50 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails in the adjacent Birch Hill Wildlife Management Area. Pets are welcome with a limit of four per site; they must be leashed at all times and a current rabies certificate is required at check-in. ADA-accessible sites are available. Check-in runs from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with checkout by 11:00 AM, and quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
