About
Gilson Pond Campground at Monadnock State Park represents the first new campground built in the New Hampshire State Park System in over 40 years. Opening in July 2010, this modern family camping area offers 41 total sites including 16 tent-only sites, 12 platform sites, 5 RV/trailer sites, 3 standard sites, and 5 remote hike-in sites. The campground sits at the base of Mount Monadnock, one of the most-climbed mountains in the world, providing convenient access to over 40 miles of hiking trails throughout the park. The facility includes a bathhouse with hot showers, flush toilets, and vault toilets throughout the campground. A playground keeps children entertained, and several water spigots are distributed among the loops. The campground is divided into Loop A and Loop B, with Loop B featuring the remote hike-in sites and offering a quieter, more rustic experience. All sites include fire rings and picnic tables. Check-in is between 1pm-8pm, check-out by 11am, and quiet hours run from 10pm-7am. Note that pets are not permitted at this campground, and cell service is limited to non-existent depending on provider.
