Light snow showers will exit the region from west to east between 8 and 11 am this morning. Any additional snow accumulations will be an inch or less. Therefore...the Winter Weather Advisory will be allowed to expire on time at 7 am. Motorists should continue to drive with caution this morning.

Lingering light snow showers will exit western MA/CT after 8 or 9 am and eastern MA/RI after 10 or 11 am. The bulk of this snow will be on the light side with additional accumulations of an inch or less expected. Motorists should continue to drive with caution and expect slippery travel to persist particularly on secondary roadways.

Otter River State Forest is a popular camping and day-use facility located in the beautiful north central Massachusetts region near Winchendon. The campground features 76 individual campsites, 4 yurts, and 3 group sites, all situated around the scenic two-acre Beaman Pond. The forest provides a perfect summer retreat for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Campers can enjoy swimming at the designated beach area on Beaman Pond from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with buoyed swimming zones for safety. The property offers extensive recreational opportunities including miles of hiking trails through hardwood stands, marshland, and pine groves, plus direct access to mountain biking trails in the adjacent Birch Hill Wildlife Management Area. On-site facilities include a basketball court, volleyball court, athletic field, pavilion, picnic areas, restrooms, and showers. ADA-accessible facilities are available. The campground operates seasonally from early May through late September or early October. Sites can be reserved in advance through ReserveAmerica, with walk-in reservations also accepted. Massachusetts residents pay $17 per night for campsites, while non-residents pay $54 per night. The forest is open sunrise to sunset for day use, with parking fees collected from late May through early September. One vehicle is permitted per campsite with overflow parking available near the contact station.
