White Lake State Park

Open

The campground is open for the 2026 season. Full operation runs from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend, with Area 1 opening early on May 15. Fall primitive camping is available October 12-24. Reservations can be made through ReserveAmerica up to 11 months in advance.

About

White Lake State Park sits on the shores of a pristine 123-acre glacial kettle lake in Tamworth, surrounded by a 72-acre stand of pitch pine designated as a National Natural Landmark. The campground offers approximately 200 wooded sites with trees providing privacy between neighbors. Sites include fire rings and picnic tables, and the campground has two bathroom buildings per area, a camp store selling supplies and firewood, coin-operated showers, and a dump station for registered campers. The clear waters of White Lake are ideal for swimming at the sandy beach, and boat rentals are available during Memorial Day weekend and July through August. Loons nest on the lake and can be observed from shore. The park is located in the White Mountain region, providing access to hiking and scenic drives throughout the area. Note that pets are not permitted anywhere in the park, and the campground does not have electric, water, or sewer hookups at individual sites. Reservations are recommended, especially for summer weekends and holidays, as the beach may reach capacity during nice weather.
