Hiking opportunities range from the easy 1.2-mile Lake Loop to the challenging 8.2-mile Gahuti Backcountry Trail that circles the park. Mountain bikers prize the East-West Bike Loop, rated among the Southeast's most beautiful and challenging trails. Historic attractions include a stone fire tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s and the mysterious 855-foot-long rock wall at the mountain's summit.
