Doll Mountain Campground sits on the shores of Carters Lake, a 3,200-acre reservoir with 62 miles of undeveloped shoreline in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground provides one of the more developed camping experiences on the lake, with 68 sites spread through a heavily wooded setting. Most sites accommodate RVs with electric hookups (20/30/50 amp) and water connections, while several tent-only sites cater to those seeking a simpler experience. Facilities are solid: two large restroom buildings with flush toilets and hot showers, a dump station, laundry, drinking water, and trash collection. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill on level concrete or gravel pads. The campground has its own boat ramp and dedicated trailer parking, making it a convenient base for anglers targeting largemouth, smallmouth, spotted, striped, and hybrid bass, as well as walleye, crappie, bream, and catfish. A playground gives families an on-site option beyond the water. The lake itself draws boaters, paddlers, and swimmers seeking relatively uncrowded conditions compared to nearby lakes. All campers must hold a reservation through Recreation.gov before arrival and check in at the gatehouse between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

From Atlanta, take I-75 north to Exit 293, then Highway 411 north to Highway 136. Turn right on Highway 136 and follow to Highway 382. Turn left on Highway 382 and look for signs to the campground.
