About
Doll Mountain Campground is located in the North Georgia Mountains on Carters Lake, a 3,200-acre reservoir with 62 miles of undeveloped shoreline in the Blue Ridge foothills. The heavily wooded campground offers 68 sites, with the majority providing electric hookups for RVs, plus several tent-only sites. The facility is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and provides a peaceful retreat about 70 miles north of Atlanta. The campground includes its own boat ramp and boat trailer parking area, providing direct access to Carters Lake for boating, fishing, and paddling. Anglers can target largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, hybrid bass, striped bass, spotted bass, crappie, walleye, bream, and catfish. Two large restroom buildings offer flush toilets and hot showers, and additional amenities include a playground for children and a dump station for RVs. Nearby Ridgeway Park and Woodring Branch Recreation Area offer hiking and mountain biking trails with varying difficulty levels. The campground gate operates from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., though vehicles can exit at any time via electronic gate. Campers should note the park access road has a steep downhill grade requiring caution when entering.
