Damsite Day Use Area Shelter

About
Damsite Day Use Area Shelter is a covered picnic shelter located at the Damsite Day Use Area on Carters Lake, approximately 70 miles north of Atlanta in the Blue Ridge Mountain foothills. This is a day-use facility only and does not permit overnight camping. The shelter (CL-10) accommodates up to 30 people and 15 vehicles. The day use area is one of the most popular boat access points at Carters Lake, featuring a three-lane boat launch ramp and courtesy dock. Carters Lake itself covers 3,200 surface acres with 62 miles of undeveloped shoreline, offering excellent fishing for largemouth, smallmouth, hybrid, striped and spotted bass, crappie, walleye, bream, and catfish. For overnight camping at Carters Lake, visitors should consider Doll Mountain, Harris Branch, or Woodring Branch campgrounds instead.
