F.D. Roosevelt State Park is Georgia's largest state park, encompassing over 10,000 acres of Pine Mountain terrain. The park holds deep historical significance as a favorite retreat of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who frequented the nearby Warm Springs for polio treatments. Many park structures were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression, including distinctive stone cottages and the spring-fed Liberty Bell Swimming Pool. The main campground features 109 tent, trailer, and RV sites arranged in wooded loops near Lake Deleanor. Each developed site includes electric and water hookups, a picnic table, and a fire ring or grill. Modern comfort stations with hot showers and flush toilets are conveniently located throughout the campground, and a dump station serves RV campers. A trading post offers firewood and basic supplies. Beyond camping, the park offers exceptional recreation including over 40 miles of trails. The 23-mile Pine Mountain Trail is a premier backpacking route with 21 backcountry campsites available by permit. Two lakes provide fishing and paddling opportunities with rental boats available. Horseback riders can access 28 miles of equestrian trails, with guided rides offered through privately operated stables.

From I-185, take exit 42 for US-27 toward Pine Mountain. Follow US-27 north approximately 12 miles to Georgia Highway 190. Turn right on GA-190 and continue about 5 miles to the park entrance at 2970 Georgia Highway 190, Pine Mountain, GA 31822.
