About

Big Cove Boat-In Campground is one of three boat-in or hike-in campgrounds situated on the scenic north shore of Cultus Lake, a glacier-formed lake along the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway. The campground provides a rustic, secluded experience with six campsites positioned right at the water's edge. Cultus Lake is one of the few lakes on the Scenic Byway that permits high-speed motorized watercraft, making it popular for waterskiing, jet skiing, sailing, and windsurfing. Campers can launch their boats at the Cultus Lake Day Use boat ramp and park in the designated boat-in camping lot within Cultus Lake Campground. Hikers can access the site via the Winopee Trail, which also provides entry to the Three Sisters Wilderness. This is a primitive campground with a composting toilet as the only facility. Campers must bring all their own drinking water and pack out trash. Reservations are required and can be made up to one day in advance through Recreation.gov.
