About
Cultus Lake Campground is located along the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway in Deschutes National Forest, offering direct shoreline access to Cultus Lake. The lake is notable for being one of the few high-elevation Cascade lakes that allows high-speed motorized watercraft, making it popular for waterskiing, jet skiing, windsurfing, and sailing. Swimming and fishing are also available directly from the campground. The campground contains 55 standard nonelectric sites spread across two loops, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Vault toilets are distributed throughout, and potable water is available via hand pumps when the water system is operational. Sites are well-shaded by the surrounding forest canopy, and many offer waterfront access. A walk-in boat launch is located within the campground, with a more developed launch available at the nearby day-use area. Trails departing from the campground area provide access to the Three Sisters Wilderness for hiking and exploration of Central Oregon's volcanic landscape. The campground operates seasonally and transitions to first-come, first-served status in late September before closing in October.
