About
Bay View State Park is a 25-acre camping park perched on the eastern shore of Padilla Bay, part of the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. The campground provides standard campsites and partial utility sites with electric and water hookups, all with a maximum site length of 50 feet. A single group camp accommodates up to 24 tent campers. Six cabins nestled among Douglas fir trees are also available. The park's beach area offers panoramic views of the San Juan Islands and is popular for kite flying, beachcombing, and bird watching. Padilla Bay is a significant stopover for migratory shorebirds along the Pacific Flyway. Note that at low tide the bay becomes extensive mudflats rather than open water. There are no lifeguards on duty. Facilities include flush restrooms with hot showers, drinking water, fire pits, picnic tables and shelters, and an RV dump station. The park is ADA accessible with designated accessible campsites and restroom facilities. Reservations are available through washington.goingtocamp.com year-round.
