About

Frog Meadow Campground is a primitive, high-elevation campground located in the Portuguese Pass Area of Sequoia National Forest, adjacent to the Golden Trout Wilderness. Sitting at approximately 7,500 feet, the campground provides a quiet base for exploring the surrounding backcountry, including the 3.7-mile Frog Meadow Trail open to hiking and mountain biking. The campground offers roughly 10 dispersed-style sites served by vault toilets. There is no potable water, so campers must bring an adequate supply. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out facility with no trash service. No fees are required, and sites are available first-come, first-served. Access is via Forest Roads 24S15, 23S16, and 24S50, approximately 26 miles northeast of Glenville. The final approach involves paved and narrow dirt roads that are unsuitable for trailers and large motorhomes. High-clearance vehicles are recommended. Snow typically closes access roads until early summer.

Directions

From Glenville, head northeast approximately 26 miles via State Highway 155 and Forest Roads 24S15, 23S16, and 24S50. Roads are narrow and unpaved near the campground. High-clearance vehicles recommended.
