About

Punderson Shelter offers a unique camping experience at Punderson State Park in Newbury Township, Ohio. This camping shelter is situated near the marina at Ohio's largest natural kettle lake, a 150-foot deep body of water formed by glacial activity over 12,000 years ago. The park spans 741 acres in Geauga County's scenic landscape. The shelter is part of the larger Punderson State Park campground complex, which features showerhouses with flush toilets, potable water access, and a dump station. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance through the Ohio State Parks reservation system. The shelter may also be available on a first-come, first-served basis if not reserved. Punderson State Park is known as Ohio's premier winter sports park, offering sledding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. In warmer months, visitors enjoy fishing, swimming at the sandy beach, paddling, and hiking. The park also features a nature center, archery range, disc golf course, and the historic Punderson Manor Lodge with dining and golf facilities.
