Frank Russell Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility located near the Clarence Cannon Dam at Mark Twain Lake in northeast Missouri. The campground provides 67 campsites across four loops: Joan, Cvie, and Frid loops offer standard electric sites, while the Equestrian loop serves campers with horses. Sites 1-29 have 20/30 amp electric service, while sites 30-67 offer 20/30/50 amp service. All sites include paved parking, picnic tables, grills, and lantern poles. The campground is a hub for trail enthusiasts, providing direct access to the 32-mile Joanna Trail that winds along the northern banks of the lake, across bluffs and over hills. Equestrian campers have access to shaded horse stalls, corrals, hitching posts, and watering stations on a first-come, first-served basis. Mark Twain Lake itself offers excellent fishing and boating opportunities. Nearby attractions include the birthplace of author Mark Twain in Florida, Missouri, the David C. Berti Shooting Range below the dam, and the M.W. Boudreaux Visitor Center on the south end of the dam.
