About

The John C. "Jack" Briscoe Group Use area, previously named the M.W. Boudreaux Group Area, is a scenic group camping destination on Mark Twain Lake managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The facility features six group campsites designed to accommodate families and organized groups exploring the Mark Twain Lake region. Each group site includes a picnic shelter, electric hookups, paved parking for RVs, shaded areas for tent camping, and open spaces for sporting activities and group gatherings. Sites typically hold 24 to 36 people. The campground provides shower facilities and a central playground. The area is ideal for group fishing trips, family reunions, and organized camping events. Mark Twain Lake is a large reservoir fed by the Salt River in northern Missouri. The lake is known for excellent bass fishing, and deer and turkey hunting opportunities. The area attracts over 2 million visitors annually, drawn by both the natural beauty and the connection to author Mark Twain, whose birthplace of Florida, Missouri, is nearby, with his boyhood home of Hannibal just 25 miles east.
