About

Preston Bend Campground is located on Lake Texoma in the Cross Timbers region of Texas. This small but popular Army Corps of Engineers facility offers 22 campsites with electrical and water hookups and 12 basic sites without hookups, making it suitable for both RVs and tent campers. The campground is situated on the Texas side of Lake Texoma, where post and blackjack oaks forest the rolling hills. Lake Texoma is renowned as the "Striper Capital of the World" and is one of the few reservoirs in the nation where striped bass reproduce naturally. Anglers also pursue largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, white and black crappie, channel catfish, and blue catfish. The lake offers excellent boating, swimming, water skiing, and sandy beaches. On-site facilities include a boat ramp and dock for easy water access. The campground provides flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, and a dump station. Nearby attractions include the scenic Cross Timbers hiking trail, which winds for 14 miles above the lake on rocky ledges and through blackjack woodland, plus 40 miles of equestrian trails. Many resorts and marinas are located nearby on the Preston Peninsula. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with deer, turkeys, bobcats, hawks, waterfowl, and songbirds commonly spotted around the lake.

From Pottsboro, TX, travel 9 miles north on Highway 289. Exit right at the campground.
