About

Eisenhower State Park sits on the rocky southern shores of Lake Texoma, just an hour north of Dallas in Denison, Texas. The park provides diverse camping options across 142 sites, including 50 full hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric, 45 water/electric sites, and multiple tent camping areas in the Elm Point, Armadillo Hill, and Fossil Ridge areas. Each campsite features a picnic table and fire ring with grill, and restrooms with showers are conveniently located throughout the campgrounds. The park's 640-acre landscape offers extensive recreational opportunities. More than four miles of hiking and biking trails wind through wooded terrain along high bluffs, offering scenic overlooks of the lake. The Armadillo Hill Nature Trail provides a self-guided nature experience. Water enthusiasts can enjoy the sandy swimming cove, fish from two fishing piers including one lighted pier for night fishing, or launch boats from the park's boat ramp. Anglers target striped bass, crappie, and catfish, and no fishing license is required when fishing from shore in Texas state parks. Unique to this park is a 10-acre OHV trail for ATVs and dirt bikes. The Eisenhower Yacht Club, a privately-operated marina within the park, offers boat slip rentals, kayak and canoe rentals, and supplies. The park store sells souvenirs and camping essentials. Ranger-led programs include stargazing, fishing workshops, and Dutch oven cooking demonstrations. Note that Grayson County is under an emerald ash borer quarantine, so visitors should purchase firewood locally rather than bringing it from other areas.
