About
Burns Run West Campground is located on the Oklahoma side of Lake Texoma, a massive reservoir straddling the Texas-Oklahoma border in the Cross Timbers region. The campground offers 117 family campsites spread across several loops, with 105 sites featuring electric (30 or 50 amp) and water hookups. Sites range from tent-only spots in Loop A to full-hookup sites accommodating RVs up to 85 feet. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The campground provides excellent amenities including flush and vault toilets, hot showers, drinking water, three dump stations, a boat ramp, swimming beach, and playground. Post and blackjack oaks provide shade throughout the rolling terrain overlooking the main body of the lake. Lake Texoma is renowned as the "Striper Capital of the World," one of the few reservoirs where striped bass reproduce naturally. The lake also supports largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, crappie, and catfish. The nearby Cross Timbers Trail offers 14 miles of hiking above the lake on rocky ledges through blackjack woodland, and 40 miles of equestrian trails surround the lake.
