Closed — Closed for the season. Reopens April 1, 2026. The campground operates April 1 through September 30 annually. Entrance gates open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. when in operation.

About

Burns Run West Campground is located on the southeastern shores of Lake Texoma in Oklahoma's Cross Timbers Region, offering beautiful views overlooking the main portion of the lake. The campground features 117 family campsites, with 105 sites having electrical and water hookups, 12 primitive tent sites, and five group campsites. Two large day-use group picnic shelters with electricity are also available. Lake Texoma is known as the Striper Capital of the World, one of the few reservoirs in the nation where striped bass reproduce naturally. The lake offers excellent fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, white crappie, black crappie, channel catfish, and blue catfish. Boating, swimming, water skiing, hunting, and birding are popular activities, with sandy beaches perfect for relaxing. The surrounding landscape features post and blackjack oaks foresting the rolling hills, with abundant wildlife including deer, turkeys, bobcats, hawks, waterfowl, and songbirds. The scenic Cross Timbers hiking trail winds for 14 miles above the lake on rocky ledges and through blackjack woodland. Forty miles of equestrian trails surround the lake, and the area features two wildlife refuges, two state parks, and 23 commercial concession areas.
