Burns Run East Campground sits on the Oklahoma side of Lake Texoma, one of the largest reservoirs in the Southwest and a premier destination for fishing, boating, and water recreation. The campground is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and features 47 campsites tucked among mature post oak and blackjack oak trees that provide ample shade. Of these sites, 44 have 50-amp electric and water hookups, while the remaining sites accommodate tent camping. The campground offers comprehensive amenities including flush toilets, vault toilets, hot showers, potable water, and an RV dump station. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit. On-site recreation facilities include two boat ramps (one with a dock), a swimming beach, and a playground. A day-use group picnic shelter with electricity is also available. Lake Texoma is renowned as the "Striper Capital of the World" due to its naturally reproducing striped bass population. Anglers also pursue largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, crappie, and catfish. The nearby 14-mile Cross Timbers hiking trail offers scenic views along rocky ledges through blackjack woodland, and 40 miles of equestrian trails surround the lake.
