Platter Flats

Open — Open year-round with reservations available. During winter months, individual water hookups are shut off after November; one frost-free hydrant is available for filling tanks. Some sites closed during off-season; park fully opens April 1st. Entrance gates open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Platter Flats Campground is an Army Corps of Engineers facility located on the eastern shore of Lake Texoma in Oklahoma's Cross Timbers Region. The campground features 26 family campsites with electric and water hookups in Loop B, plus 35 equestrian sites with hookups and 3 equestrian tent sites without hookups in Loop A. The rolling hills are forested with post and blackjack oaks, providing habitat for deer, turkeys, bobcats, hawks, waterfowl and songbirds. Lake Texoma is known as the "Striper Capital of the World" and is one of the few reservoirs where striped bass reproduce naturally. Anglers also pursue largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, crappie, and catfish. The campground provides direct lake access via boat ramp and dock. On land, visitors can explore the scenic Cross Timbers hiking trail, which winds 14 miles above the lake on rocky ledges and through blackjack woodland. Equestrians have access to 40 miles of horse trails surrounding the lake. The campground includes flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water (frost-free hydrant available in winter), dump station, and a day-use group picnic shelter. Entrance gates are open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov.
