Johnson Creek Campground is a popular U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park located on the eastern shore of Lake Texoma in Oklahoma's Cross Timbers Region. The campground offers 54 paved campsites, each equipped with electric hookups (30 and 50 amp available) and water connections. Every site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with sites 15-17, 44, 49, 50, and 52-54 featuring covered picnic tables. Most sites offer lake views through the heavily wooded setting of post and blackjack oaks. Facilities include flush toilets, vault toilets, showers, potable drinking water, and a dump station. A boat ramp and dock are located within the campground, with a marina and general store available within one mile. The campground operates year-round, with full operations beginning April 1st. Sites 41-55 remain open during winter months, though individual water hookups are shut off after November and one frost-free hydrant is available for filling water tanks. Lake Texoma is renowned as the "Striper Capital of the World," one of the few reservoirs where striped bass reproduce naturally. The lake also supports largemouth and smallmouth bass, white and hybrid striped bass, crappie, and catfish. Beyond fishing, visitors enjoy the scenic 14-mile Cross Timbers hiking trail and 40 miles of equestrian trails surrounding the lake.
