Lakeside

Open — Open for reservations year-round with reduced operations during winter months. Some sites close during off-season; park fully opens April 1. Individual water hookups shut off after November, but one frost-free hydrant remains available. Entrance gates open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Lakeside Campground is located on Lake Texoma in Oklahoma's Cross Timbers Region, positioned on the eastern side of this massive reservoir. With 137 campsites spread across multiple loops, the facility is one of the more heavily used recreation areas on Lake Texoma. Most sites are within 150 feet of the shoreline and offer electrical and water hookups, though some primitive tent-only sites are available. Lake Texoma is renowned as the "Striper Capital of the World," being one of the few reservoirs in the nation where striped bass reproduce naturally. Anglers also pursue largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, white and black crappie, and channel and blue catfish. The campground provides two boat ramps with docks and ample trailer parking for easy lake access. The surrounding landscape features post and blackjack oak forests across rolling hills. Wildlife is abundant, including deer, turkey, bobcats, hawks, waterfowl, and songbirds. The scenic Cross Timbers hiking trail winds for 14 miles above the lake on rocky ledges and through blackjack woodland. Forty miles of equestrian trails surround the lake as well. Two shower buildings serve the campground, along with a large day-use group picnic shelter with hookups.

Directions

From Durant, Oklahoma, travel 10 miles west on Highway 70 to Streetman Road. Turn south on Streetman Road and follow it 4 miles to the park entrance.
