Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect wind chills in the -15F to -25F range today.

Located in the remote and beautiful Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Presque Isle Campground offers 50 rustic campsites along the banks of the Presque Isle River and Lake Superior. The campground includes 44 drive-up sites and 6 walk-in sites that provide additional privacy and a more secluded camping experience. Many sites feature stunning views of Lake Superior and enjoy cool lake breezes during summer months. The campground is situated near the mouth of the wild Presque Isle River, providing easy access to the river's scenic waterfalls and the dramatic Lake Superior shoreline. Amenities are rustic, with vault toilets and hand-pumped water available throughout the campground. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. The location serves as an excellent base for exploring the Porcupine Mountains, with access to miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, and wilderness areas. This rustic campground appeals to campers seeking a more primitive experience in one of Michigan's most spectacular natural settings, where the river meets Lake Superior amid the towering forests of the Porcupine Mountains.

Directions

From Wakefield, Michigan, take M-28 west for approximately 15 miles. Turn north onto South Boundary Road and continue for about 20 miles to reach the campground entrance.
