About

Potato Creek State Park is one of Indiana's most popular camping destinations, situated in north-central Indiana about 12 miles southwest of South Bend. The campground features 287 electric sites suitable for both tents and RVs, along with 70 horsemen's electric sites and 17 youth tent areas. The park is open year-round, though water is turned off during winter months and amenities are limited. The 327-acre Worster Lake serves as the centerpiece, offering opportunities for fishing, boating with electric trolling motors only, and swimming at a sandy beach. The park includes diverse natural habitats from mature woodlands and restored prairies to wetlands, providing excellent wildlife observation. Trail enthusiasts can explore over 15 miles of hiking trails ranging from easy to rugged terrain, a 3.2-mile paved bicycle trail, 7.4 miles of mountain bike trails, and over 7 miles of bridle trails. Modern facilities include flush toilets, hot water showers, electricity at sites, a camp store, dump station, and water fill station. The campground does not offer water or sewer hookups at individual sites. Reservations are highly recommended, especially during summer weekends when the campground typically sells out. Stay is limited to 14 consecutive nights. The park operates daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
