2:20 AM — 4:30 AM

A strong, Arctic cold front will move across northern Indiana early this morning. Heavy snow showers will accompany this front reducing visibility under one half mile and producing a quick half inch to locally one inch of additional snow accumulation. Westerly winds will gust as high as 40 mph producing blowing and drifting snow.

* WHAT...Lake effect snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations ranging from 2 to 4 inches north of the Toll Road, to 1 to 2 inches south of the Toll Road. Blowing and drifting snow, especially late tonight through mid afternoon Monday. Visibilities of less than one quarter of a mile due to snow and blowing snow are possible at times, with the greatest impacts expected along and north of the Toll Road. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Eastern St. Joseph IN, Elkhart, Northern La Porte, and Western St. Joseph IN Counties. * WHEN...From 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening to 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ Monday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Low visibility will be possible from falling snow and gusty winds. Use caution will driving and increase your following distance. Cold temperatures combined with the gusty winds will produce wind chills of 10 below to 15 below on Monday. Be sure to bundle up if outside.

Potato Creek State Park is one of Indiana's most popular camping destinations, situated in north-central Indiana about 12 miles southwest of South Bend. The campground features 287 electric sites suitable for both tents and RVs, along with 70 horsemen's electric sites and 17 youth tent areas. The park is open year-round, though water is turned off during winter months and amenities are limited. The 327-acre Worster Lake serves as the centerpiece, offering opportunities for fishing, boating with electric trolling motors only, and swimming at a sandy beach. The park includes diverse natural habitats from mature woodlands and restored prairies to wetlands, providing excellent wildlife observation. Trail enthusiasts can explore over 15 miles of hiking trails ranging from easy to rugged terrain, a 3.2-mile paved bicycle trail, 7.4 miles of mountain bike trails, and over 7 miles of bridle trails. Modern facilities include flush toilets, hot water showers, electricity at sites, a camp store, dump station, and water fill station. The campground does not offer water or sewer hookups at individual sites. Reservations are highly recommended, especially during summer weekends when the campground typically sells out. Stay is limited to 14 consecutive nights. The park operates daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
