About

Dunewood Campground is nestled in the wooded interior of Indiana Dunes National Park, offering a peaceful base camp for exploring 15 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and over 15,000 acres of diverse natural communities. The campground consists of two loops containing 66 campsites: 54 conventional drive-in sites and 12 walk-in sites, with four wheelchair-accessible sites. Each loop features modern restrooms with hot and cold showers. The campground provides easy access to 50 miles of hiking trails that traverse rugged dunes, oak savannas, wetlands, prairies, and forests. Lake View Beach on Lake Michigan is located 1.5 miles north of the campground. The park contains four National Natural Landmarks, including Pinhook Bog and Cowles Bog, along with the historic Bailly Homestead. Convenient amenities include a gas station and convenience store located a quarter mile north at US Highway 12 and Broadway Avenue. The Beverly Shores South Shore Railroad station, also a quarter mile away, provides passenger rail service to Chicago and South Bend. Sites have fire rings and picnic tables, though some sites have limited RV length restrictions.

Directions

From I-94, take exit 26B and follow IN-49 North for 2.7 miles. Turn sharp right onto US-12 East and continue 4.7 miles. Turn right onto Broadway, then immediately left onto Golf Wood Road to reach the campground entrance.
