Pontiac Lake Modern Campground occupies a scenic section of the 3,745-acre Pontiac Lake Recreation Area in Oakland County, Michigan. The campground features 176 sites spread across two distinct camping loops, offering a variety of settings from open, sunny sites to more secluded, wooded spots. Most sites provide 20 and 30-amp electric service, with some 50-amp sites available for larger RVs. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit. The campground offers modern amenities including flush toilets, hot showers, potable water stations throughout, and a sanitation station for RV waste disposal. A playground provides entertainment for families with children. The surrounding recreation area offers exceptional outdoor opportunities, including Pontiac Lake itself with a swimming beach, world-class mountain biking trails, hiking paths, and equestrian trails. A fenced off-leash dog area near the beach makes this a pet-friendly destination. The park's diverse landscape encompasses marshes, ponds, heavy forests, old farm fields, river bottoms, and multiple lakes, providing excellent habitat for wildlife viewing and nature photography. A separate rustic equestrian campground with trail access is also available for horse camping enthusiasts.

Directions

From I-75, take M-59 (Highland Road) west. Turn north on Williams Lake Road, then west on Gale Road to the park entrance. The campground is located at 3480 Teggerdine Road in White Lake.
