Lodge Campground at Scenic State Park provides a peaceful camping experience in Minnesota's northwoods, set beneath towering white pines near the shores of Coon and Sandwick Lakes. The campground features 29 sites, including 2 with 30-amp electric hookups, spread through a forested setting that offers both shade and privacy. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. The campground sits near the park's historic lodge area, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Amenities include flush toilets and hot showers available from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, with vault toilets available during shoulder seasons. A sanitary dump station serves RV campers, and the park features a swimming beach, boat launch on Coon Lake, and interpretive displays at the historic lodge. Scenic State Park encompasses over 3,000 acres of some of Minnesota's last remaining virgin pine forests. The Chase Point Trail offers panoramic views of the pristine lakes, while the park's wilderness-like setting provides excellent opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and wildlife observation.
