About
Clubhouse Lake Campground is situated on the peaceful western shore of Clubhouse Lake within the Chippewa National Forest. The campground features 47 campsites shaded by a magnificent stand of 200-year-old red and white pine trees, providing a scenic and tranquil camping experience. Clubhouse Lake is approximately 90 feet deep with excellent water quality, making it ideal for fishing northern pike, bass, and panfish. The campground includes a sandy swimming beach, an accessible fishing pier, and a day use area at the water's edge. Boating, canoeing, and kayaking are popular activities, and those with smaller boats or canoes can access several nearby lakes. The Rice River Canoe Route starts its journey to the Big Fork River from waters that flow into Clubhouse Lake. The campground is located along Highway 38, designated as the nation's first National Scenic Byway and known as "The Edge of the Wilderness." The nearby Marcell Discovery Center, located half a mile north of Marcell, offers excellent displays, a gift shop, and weekly naturalist programs. Reservations are made through Recreation.gov, and the Forest Service, along with the Big Fork Lion's Club, sponsors a kids fishing day at the campground each June.
