About

Point Campground sits on the west shore of Redfish Lake at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountain Range, surrounded by lodgepole pines and summer wildflowers at an elevation of 6,500 feet. This tent-only campground is consistently ranked among the top campsites in the country, with most sites offering direct lake views. The 17 sites accommodate tents only; sites 1-8 are designated walk-in tent sites, and no motorhomes or trailers are permitted anywhere in the campground. Redfish Lake provides exceptional recreation opportunities including boating, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing for rainbow trout and kokanee salmon. A designated swimming beach and dock are located at the adjacent day-use area. The Sawtooth National Recreation Area offers approximately 750 miles of trails, with trailheads for the Alpine Way, Fishhook Creek, Redfish Lake Creek, and Bench Lakes trails in the immediate vicinity. The interpretive Fishhook Nature Trail offers a short introduction to the area's ecology. Redfish Lake Lodge is nearby, providing a restaurant, general store, boat and kayak rentals, mooring services, lake tours, and a shuttle across the lake. Popular local events include an Arts and Crafts Fair in July and Wagon Days, Salmon Festival, Quilt Fair, and Fireman's Ball in September.
