About
Point Bridget State Park encompasses 2,850 acres of coastal wilderness featuring meadows, rocky beaches, salmon streams, and spectacular views of the Lynn Canal and Chilkat Mountains. Located 39 miles north of Juneau at Mile 38.5 Glacier Highway, the park provides a true backcountry experience just a short drive from Alaska's capital city. Three public-use cabins offer overnight accommodations: Cowee Meadow Cabin, Blue Mussel Beach Cabin, and Camping Cove Cabin. Each rustic 12x16 or 14x18 foot structure includes wooden sleeping platforms, a kerosene stove for heating, chairs, a table, fire ring, picnic table, and an outhouse. Water must be purified from nearby creeks or melted from snow in winter. Visitors must pack in all supplies including kerosene fuel (minimum 1 gallon per day, more in winter). The trail system covers approximately 8 miles through temperate rainforest and muskeg. Summer access is via hiking or boating from Amalga Harbor or Echo Cove. Winter visitors can ski or snowshoe the trails. Wildlife viewing opportunities include bears, whales, seals, and salmon in spawning season. The 3-night maximum stay limit applies to all cabins.
