About

Pless Place Overnight Hunt Camp offers a remote, primitive camping experience in the heart of Florida's Withlacoochee State Forest. Located within the Richloam Wildlife Management Area in Hernando County, this hunt camp provides access to some of the best hunting opportunities in central Florida, including small game, turkey, and wild hog. The campground features 11 primitive drive-up sites numbered 31-41, each accommodating up to 8 people with driveway lengths of 37 feet suitable for tents, trailers, and self-propelled camping vehicles. This is true backcountry camping with no amenities and no potable water on-site. Port-a-lets are placed only during designated hunting season dates. Campers should bring all supplies including water and hand sanitizer. A valid hunting license or management area stamp is required for overnight stays. Generators must be shut down between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am, and discharge of firearms is prohibited on, from, or across any campsite. Reservations are available up to 11 months in advance through the Florida State Forests reservation system.
