About

Cedar Hammock Lodge is a day-use event facility located within the Richloam Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest in Sumter County. This peaceful, secluded venue sits approximately 8 miles from Webster and 7 miles from Mascotte in Lake County. The facility is designed to accommodate groups of up to 75 people for events between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. The facility features restrooms, an outdoor pavilion with a screened area that includes picnic tables, ceiling fans, and lighting, plus an outdoor grill. Inside amenities are climate-controlled with air conditioning. The facility is nestled within the expansive Withlacoochee State Forest, which spans across five counties and exceeds 165,000 acres. The forest is characterized by the Withlacoochee River, Little Withlacoochee River, and Jumper Creek (all designated Outstanding Florida Waters), along with open pine sand hills, dense woodlands, and canopied trails. The surrounding forest provides excellent wildlife viewing opportunities for bald eagles, fox squirrels, gopher tortoises, white-tailed deer, and turkeys. Tree species include slash pine, longleaf pine, pond and bald cypress, maple, southern magnolia, hickory, and various oak species. Colorful wildflowers bloom in autumn throughout the area.
