Meg's Hole Hunt Camp is a primitive hunt camp located within the Withlacoochee State Forest in Pasco County, Florida. The camp provides 21 sites with full hookups including 30 and 50 amp electric service, water, and sewer connections. Despite its rustic setting, the infrastructure supports RV camping for hunters seeking a base camp during Florida's hunting seasons. The camp operates seasonally, opening in conjunction with Florida's hunting calendar which typically runs from fall through early spring. Port-a-lets are provided during hunting season dates. All campers must present proof of a current Florida hunting license or management stamp along with a valid driver's license when purchasing a hunt camp permit. Campfires are permitted at designated sites, though campers should verify current burn ban status as drought conditions can trigger county-wide fire restrictions. Reservations can be made through the Florida State Forests reservation system, with some hunters booking up to six months in advance for peak hunting weekends.

Directions

From I-75, take exit 301 and merge onto FL-50/US-98/Cortez Blvd heading east for approximately 5.5 miles. Turn south on CR-575 (Burwell Road) and travel approximately 2 miles. Turn east on Lacoochee Clay Sink Road and continue approximately 4.4 miles. Turn right onto Megs Hole Road and head south approximately 0.5 miles into the camp.
