About

Pleasant Valley Campground is a quiet, intimate campground in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest along the American River in the Northern Cascade Range of Washington. At 3,400 feet elevation, it offers approximately 16 standard sites suitable for both tent and RV camping, with a 32-foot maximum trailer length. The campground features vault toilets, potable drinking water via hand pump, and picnic tables at each site. A historic Civilian Conservation Corps shelter adds character to the grounds. The American River runs adjacent to the campground, providing excellent fishing opportunities for rainbow, brook, and cutthroat trout. The cold, refreshing waters also attract swimmers in summer months. Several trailheads are accessible from the campground, including Crow Lake, Swamp Lake, Cougar Valley, and Union Creek trails. The Pacific Crest Trail is also accessible nearby. In winter, the Pleasant Valley Trail System offers 6 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails. Mount Rainier National Park and Boulder Cave National Recreation Trail are popular nearby attractions. Be aware that Thatcher ants are present in the campground, creating large anthills throughout the area.
