Pleasant Valley Campground sits along the scenic American River in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest within the Northern Cascade Range of Washington. At an elevation of 3,400 feet, this smaller, quieter campground offers approximately 16 standard non-electric sites that accommodate both tent and RV camping, with a maximum trailer length of 32 feet. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit, and the campground provides vault toilets and hand-pumped drinking water. The campground features a historic Civilian Conservation Corps shelter and serves as a gateway to numerous recreational opportunities. The American River, running alongside the campground, supports healthy populations of rainbow, brook, and cutthroat trout and offers cold, refreshing waters for swimmers. Multiple trailheads near the campground provide access to Crow Lake, Swamp Lake, Cougar Valley, and Union Creek trails, as well as portions of the Pacific Crest Trail. In winter, the area connects to the Pleasant Valley Trail System with 6 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails. Campers should be aware of Thatcher ants present in the campground, with large anthills dotting the area. Tent campers especially need to exercise caution, as bites can be harmful to humans and pets. The campground operates on a mix of reservation and first-come, first-served sites through Recreation.gov, with nightly rates of $22 plus an $11 additional vehicle fee.

Directions

From Naches, travel west on Highway 12 for 4.4 miles. Continue straight onto Highway 410 West for 36 miles to milepost 80.2. Campground is on the south side of the highway.
