Salmon Cove Group Campground is located at 3,300 feet elevation on the banks of the American River in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This group site accommodates up to 60 people and 15 vehicles, making it ideal for larger gatherings and organized groups seeking a riverside mountain setting. The American River flows directly adjacent to the campground, offering opportunities for fishing rainbow and brown trout in deep pools along the pebble-strewn shore. The cold, refreshing waters also attract swimmers, rafters, and kayakers. The nearby American Ridge Trail provides access to 26 miles of hiking and horseback riding opportunities, extending from Bumping River to the Pacific Crest Trail and passing through towering forests, meadows, and alpine lakes with scenic ridgeline views. The campground features an open design with picnic tables and a vault toilet. Visitors must bring their own water as none is available on-site. The site operates seasonally due to its elevation and winter snow conditions. Located at milepost 83 on State Route 410, the campground provides a convenient base for exploring the surrounding Cascade Mountain region.

Directions

From Naches, Washington, follow U.S. Highway 12 west to State Route 410. Take SR 410 west for approximately 40 miles to milepost 83. The campground access road and gate are located on the south side of the road.
