About
Hells Crossing Campground is located along the American River in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington's Cascade Range. The campground offers 18 sites divided into two sections with separate entrances. Sites 1-10 are in the eastern section just over the American River, while sites 11-18 are in the western section. Both single-family and multi-family sites are available, along with tent-only options. The campground provides vault toilets and potable drinking water from a hand pump located at the west end only. Picnic tables are provided at each site. Note that this campground is not recommended for RVs due to tight turns and trees close to roads, with a maximum trailer length of 20 feet. No hookups are available. A large trailhead adjacent to the campground provides access to the American River and to Goat Peak Trail #958C and Pleasant Valley Loop Trail #999 within the William O. Douglas Wilderness to the south. The American River offers swimming in cold, refreshing waters and nearby rivers provide whitewater rafting opportunities.
