About

Mauthe Lake Campground is located within the Mauthe Lake Recreation Area in Wisconsin's Kettle Moraine State Forest Northern Unit, which covers over 30,000 acres of glacial terrain. The campground features 135 sites spread along the shore of the 83-acre lake, including 51 electric sites and 84 non-electric sites. A shower building with flush toilets serves the 300 loop, while vault toilets are distributed throughout the remaining loops. The recreation area offers diverse activities including swimming at a beach with playground equipment, fishing from an accessible pier or spillway dam, and boating on the no-wake lake where gas-powered motors are prohibited. Kayak and canoe rentals are available seasonally through a concessionaire, along with food and drink concessions. The campground provides an excellent basecamp for hiking the extensive trail network, including segments of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Facilities include a sanitary dump station and recycling/garbage station for registered campers. ADA-accessible campsites are available. Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash and are not allowed in buildings, on beaches, or in playgrounds.
