About

Pine Flat Campground sits on the shores of Pine Flat Lake, a 20-mile-long reservoir in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, about 35 miles east of Fresno. The lake was formed in 1954 with the completion of Pine Flat Dam and is managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District. The campground provides both electric and non-electric campsites along with a dump station for RV users. The location serves as a gateway to the Sierra and Sequoia National Forests, offering year-round camping, fishing, boating, and hiking opportunities. Anglers target smallmouth and largemouth bass, spotted bass, and rainbow trout. The Kings River Canyon provides a scenic backdrop for water activities including waterskiing and jet skiing. Note: This campground was closed in 2012 due to safety and maintenance issues. Current operational status is unclear as it does not appear on Recreation.gov for reservations. Contact the Pine Flat Lake office at (559) 787-2589 for current information.
