About

Green Cabin Flat Campground is an undeveloped dispersed camping area situated along the wild and scenic Kings River within the Giant Sequoia National Monument, managed by the Hume Lake Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest. At just 1,000 feet elevation, the site provides a secluded river canyon experience far removed from the more developed campgrounds in the monument. The camping area is free and operates on a first-come-first-served basis with no advance reservations. Facilities are minimal: vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Kings River corridor offers excellent whitewater rafting opportunities, with rapids up to Class III downstream to Pine Flat Reservoir. A valid California campfire permit is required for any campfires, barbecues, or camp stoves. This is black bear country, and proper food storage is mandatory.
