About

Pine Creek Campground is located on the eastern side of the Toquima Mountain Range in Nevada's Monitor Valley, a remote and scenic area within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The campground features 21 individual campsites and one group site situated along Pine Creek, which flows through the property. The area is shaded by aspens and other trees, creating a pleasant camping environment popular with locals, travelers, and hunters. The campground serves as a gateway to the Alta Toquima Wilderness, with the Pine Creek Trailhead located just outside the camping area. Trails lead to Mount Jefferson and connect with the Toiyabe Crest National Recreation Trail, offering excellent opportunities for day hiking and backpacking. Anglers can fish in Pine Creek, and equestrians will appreciate the stock loading area with hitching rack. The campground requires certified weed-free hay for horses. Access to Pine Creek Campground requires travel on multiple forest service roads and is considered remote. The nearest towns are Belmont and Tonopah. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees and no reservations. Facilities are basic, with vault toilets but no potable water available on-site. Dogs must be kept on leash at the campground. The 14-day stay limit applies.
