About
Kingston Guard Station is a historic U.S. Forest Service administrative facility situated in the Toiyabe Range within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Located in Lander County, Nevada, this guard station served as an operational base for Forest Service personnel managing the surrounding lands. The facility is not open to the public for camping, rental, or overnight stays. Unlike some Forest Service guard stations that have been converted into recreational rentals, Kingston Guard Station remains an administrative property without public access. Campers interested in the Kingston Canyon area should consider the nearby Kingston Campground, a free primitive campground at 7,100 feet elevation along Kingston Creek. That campground offers vault toilets, picnic tables, and access to the Toiyabe Crest National Recreation Trail and Groves Lake.
Directions
From Austin, follow US 50 East to State Route 376 South for 16 miles to the turnoff-campground sign. The guard station area is approximately 6 miles west of the State Route 376 turnoff.
