About

Belmont Campground is a primitive, undeveloped camping area located near the historic mining town of Belmont in Nye County, Nevada. Part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest's Austin-Tonopah Ranger District, this rustic campground offers a backcountry experience without developed site features or fees. The campground serves as a base for exploring the nearby Table Mountain Wilderness and Alta Toquima Wilderness areas, with Barley Creek, Cottonwood Creek, and Pine Creek trailheads all within a short drive. Equestrians will find the site accommodating, though certified weed-free hay is required to protect the surrounding wilderness from invasive species. Campers should come fully prepared for primitive conditions. There is no potable water, no restrooms, and no trash service on site. The area is accessible via a short dirt road off NV-82, approximately 2 miles south of Belmont.

Directions

From Belmont, NV, drive south on NV-82 for 1.3 miles, then turn right onto a dirt road for 0.7 miles.
